Want to remind you of our Homework Assistance Program offered after school to students that are struggling with their homework. This program is run through our KIDS First Family Resource Center. Teacher referral is required. If you have any questions please contact the center @ 538-4082.

A A huge congratulations goes to Jack Reed, a sixth grade student at our school! Jack recently was named one of the winners of the 2nd Annual Winter Chills Story contest! His story is currently published in the Paducah Parenting and Family magazine and he will have the honor of eating lunch with the author of the Chillers series who inspired the contest, Johnathon Rand. Mr. Rand will also present the winners with an autographed copy of one of his books! We are SO proud of you, Jack! Congrats to you from all of us!!!

1. We want to say congratulations to the Heath Middle School 7^th Grade Girls and Boys Basketball Teams for winning the McCracken County Middle School Tournament last Thursday. Great job on two well played games and great seasons.

Want to say thank you to all the students that attended the first Scrapbook Club Meeting. The next meeting will be February 19^th from 2:30 till 5:00. If you didn’t attend the first meeting check with Mrs. White about joining.

6^th Grade will be having “Loving Yourself Day” Friday. This program that is sponsored by the KIDS First Family Resource Center will run from 8:30 till 11:00 up in the sixth grade wing.

HMS Friends of Rachel Clubs are taking food and money donations for victims in Haiti. Please send items such as peanut butter, diapers, dried beans, cornmeal, canned meats, etc... to school. All money donations will be used to buy food items for victims.

1. Tennis tryouts will be held at the Heath Community Center Tennis Courts from Tuesday February 16^th till Friday February 26^th from 2:30 till 4:00. This is of course weather permitting.

Heath Middle School placed second in the Kentucky Colonels’ Sixth Grade Academic Showcase hosted by South Livingston Elementary School on December 5, 2009. Students placed in the top five in all written assessment areas.

HMS Scholastic Book Fair is scheduled for March 1^st through March 5^th from 7:45 till 3:00 in the Heath Middle School Media Center.

Valentines Day Dance is scheduled for February 12^th after school from 2:30 till 5:00.

You probably have noticed some automated phone messages from the school. We are happy to have One Call Now to help communicate events that are happening at school. We will primarily use this system to notify you of important events as well as school closings.

We hope that you have also been able to access Parent Portal. This allows you to view your student’s grades, attendance, and any missing assignments that your student may have. If you are experiencing problems with this program please feel free to contact us here at school or the McCracken County Board of Education. Access to the parent portal is available on the McCracken County website.
